It all started in 1953. I was born in the right place, at the right time to see Social Justice the Southern way, which deeply touched my heart. My life was surrounded by loving caring people in a sweet friendly Southern town, in the Everglades. The beautiful State of Florida, the tropical vacation spot for the snowbirds to come bask in the sun over the winter, soak in the humidity, swat the bugs, and walk along the endless Oceanside. The Everglades population was about 10,000 depending on the season, as migrant workers moved in and out for seasonal work for the Sugarcane Company's, orange groves and farmers. The migrant workers had backbreaking work, just down right hard labor. I thought they were slaves, as I watched the migrant workers working in the fields, with the scorching heat bouncing off their backs. Where I lived the poor people desperately needed jobs, food, and shelter. Yes, that's pretty much the checklist of all the necessary elements to survive life. The highest priority and main ingredient missing was jobs, which seemed to be lacking for some people. So, my question is, what's changed today, almost 50 years later? Enjoy the show of yesteryear, Harvest of Shame.

November 22, 1963

http://www.jackielynaugh.com/2/post/2011/11/november-22-1963.html

http://www.jackielynaugh.com/2/post/2011/11/november-22-1963.html#comments

Uncategorized

Where were you 48 years ago, when President John F Kennedy was shot?
